چکیده

In this position paper we present a novel approach to neurobiologically plausible implementation of emotional reactions and behaviors for real-time autonomous robotic systems. The working metaphor we use is the “day” and “night” phases of mammalian life. During the “day” phase a robotic system stores the inbound information and is controlled by the light-weight rule-based system in real time. In contrast to that, during the “night” phase the stored information is been transferred to the supercomputing system to update the realistic neural network: emotional and behavioral strategies.

Is that Robot Allowed to Play in Human Versus Robot Soccer Games - Laws of the Game for Achieving the RoboCup Dream

Many RoboCuppers share a dream: a team of fully autonomous humanoid robot soccer players that is capable of playing soccer games against human players by 2050. The demonstration of a human versus robot soccer game at RoboCup 2007 was an exciting display of the progress that has been in RoboCup community since 1997 in terms of the robot’s autonomy, sensing ability, and physical features. This ga...

A Novel Approach on “Simulating Dream like Patterns for Robot” ‘Dream for Dreams’

When we understand the nature and technology in hands it is possible to create and simulate many unusual things. In this regard, with information about science of dreams, its nature and the image processing technology, it is possible to simulate the dream like patterns which can be implemented to robots for improving its intelligence. The model proposed in this paper is based on the concept tha...

Vision-and-Language Navigation: Interpreting visually-grounded navigation instructions in real environments

A robot that can carry out a natural-language instruction has been a dream since before the Jetsons cartoon series imagined a life of leisure mediated by a fleet of attentive robot helpers. It is a dream that remains stubbornly distant. However, recent advances in vision and language methods have made incredible progress in closely related areas. This is significant because a robot interpreting...

Handling uncertainty in control of autonomous robots

Autonomous robots need the ability to move purposefully and without human intervention in real-world environments that have not been speciically engineered for them. These environments are characterized by the pervasive presence of uncertainty: the need to cope with this uncertainty constitutes a major challenge for autonomous robots. In this note, we discuss this challenge, and present some sp...

A Cross-Linguistic Analysis of Dream Narratives: Japanese and Mandarin

B on Labov & Waletzky’s (1) displacement method, Cariola (2) demonstrated that elicited dream narratives follow a homogenous structure of 1) Topic introduction, 2) Orientation, 3) Complication, 4) Evaluation, and 5) Coda. Topic introduction units can be defined as conversation turn sequences with which the interviewer or conversational partner may introduce the topic of the dream. In relation t...
